UNIT 2 – Mapping my skills Description The unit Mapping my Skills focuses on the recognition of skills and competences female third-country nationals have gained prior to the arrival in the country where they are currently based and how they can be transferred and used in European societies. Social workers and volunteers are trained in how to recognise the skills of third country nationals and help them break intercultural barriers by using their already gained competences to effectively integrate into the European labour market. Learning Outcomes After the completion of the unit Mapping my Skills, you will be capable of: - Identifying your own skills and recognizing the skills of others; - Defining and understanding the skills needed for effective and smart volunteering to support others integrate into the labour market; - Relating the importance of transferable skills for volunteering and for increased employment opportunities; - Organizing and prioritizing workloads for effective volunteering; - Expressing themselves with improved communication and through reflective practice. You will have developed/improved the following skills related to the competence addressed by the specific unit: - Skills for “Effective Volunteering”; - Team working; - Creative skills; - Self-awareness; - Interpersonal awareness; - Communication skills; - Time management; - Resilience; - Leadership.
