Detailed description of the activity Aim of the activity: This icebreaker will help participants explore their thoughts on volunteering and migrant women and will help the trainer to know the target group. Preparation: The trainer will write down following questions on flipchart: What comes to your mind when you think of volunteering? What comes to your mind when you think of migrant women? Steps and instructions: Step 1 : Divide the participants into two groups. Step 2 : Tell the groups that their assignment is to think for a minute and then share with their group the one word that comes to their mind when they think of volunteering and the second word for migrant women. Step 3 : Give participants some time to reflect on it within their groups and then tell them to share their two words with all participants. Step 4 : List all the words on flip chart. Ask participants to explore following questions in their small group to support the content of the training: Can the type of volunteering you described be helpful for skill development? Can migrant women be involved in your definition of volunteering? Step 5 : Conclude the icebreaker by asking for a volunteer from each group to share a point or two that highlighted their discussion.
