Lessons learnt: Recommendations for the implementation of the training After the pilot sessions carried out by project partners in five European countries (Spain, Italy, France, UK, Belgium and Cyprus), some guidelines are presented below so they can be taken into account and serve as recommendations for future facilitators willing to implement this training in the most fruitful manner. These recommendations are based on the experiences of the facilitators who have delivered the training in the first place, who shared the main challenges they had to face and which tools or adaptations were useful to implement the training successfully. Main challenges tackled by facilitators ● Recruitment of participants for the training. Even if a large number of people sign up, not all of them will attend the training sessions. ● Although facilitators understand the importance of respecting the contents created and the homogeneity in all piloting sessions, it may be difficult to work on presentations done by others, so some adaptation is advisable. ● Participants may come from different starting points, which will require careful management to ensure no one is left behind. ● Time management is important in order to leave enough space for participants to express themselves and, at the same time, deliver the scheduled content . ● Adaptation to priorities and needs of organisations, which sometimes implies some minor modifications of the content, always respecting the lesson plans and the training modules. ● Even though general evaluation of the training is usually quite positive and participants enjoy it, sustainability of participants in three sessions may be challenging due to their busy work schedule and limited staff in their organisations. ● In order to organise the sessions according to participants’ expectations, it is a good idea to ask them to write down their expectations for each session, then compare it to the final results and see if they were met.
